This month’s Walkabout here in the North End finds me at the no name plaza, established in the 1970’s and newly renovated a few years ago. Upon speaking to the shop keepers, it appears no one knows the name of this plaza. So, for this write up, I’ll call it the Waterfront Harbour Bay Plaza located at James Street & Burlington Street featuring a stunning view that overlooks the West Harbor.
A little jewel of a plaza which blends in nicely with the neighborhood and does not disappoint…
Here are the shops dotting along the way.
GRANDAD’S DONUTS an anchor serving the best donuts and other delights since May 2007. A gathering place for the young and old where neighbours meet neighbours.

NORTH END PITA serves great Pitas, Shawarma’s and delicious food at good prices. Drop in and see Mohammed a pleasant hard-working soul from Egypt whose personality is reflected in the food.
KOHLER DRUG STORE serving the pharmaceutical needs of residents in the North End.
MORA’S LAUNDROMAT an old school laundromat retro 70’s – as if time stood still.
WATERFRONT NAILS & SPA want to feel pampered? Have a spa day by the Bay; check in today and pamper yourself.
WESTON PIZZA and WINGS serving delicious pizza & wings for many years. My favorite pizza – the meat lover’s.
JAMES STREET CANNABIS CO. A new resident in the plaza. l spoke to the owner Nick about this shop and wellness center. I asked Nick his motto for his shop. “Go hard, be kind have fun.”

HASTY MARKET newly renovated and expanded. The “go to” neighbourhood Grocery store. 0ffering convenient in-store shopping and delivery.
So, get out and stretch your legs. Head out to support those local Plazas & Strip Malls in your neighbourhood.
A special thank you goes to Grandad’s, North End Pita, Kohler, James Street Cannabis Co. and Weston Pizza & Wings for their generous donations towards the recent North Ender of the year awards.
Cheers till next month.
