The Head of the Lake Historical Society hosts public talks from September to May (except December) at the Coach House of Dundurn Castle. Talks are usually on the third Friday evening of the month.
All are welcome to our next meeting, Friday, April 17, 2026, where our speaker will be author and reporter SARAH FARR. 2026 marks the 80th anniversary of Hamilton’s infamous John Dick murder case. Sarah is working on a book about Evelyn Dick and other suspects and will be presenting details from her research.
The case of Evelyn Dick is legendary in Hamilton (and beyond). In 1946, she was charged with the murder of her husband and her infant son. Although it is a well-known case, some pieces are still being uncovered by Sarah Farr.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the presentation is at 7:30 p.m. The talks are upstairs at the Coach House of Dundurn Castle, 610 York Blvd., Hamilton.
There is a large parking lot with an entrance across from the Hamilton Cemetery. Members are free, guests are charged $5 (and are entered into a draw for one of the society’s books).
