You enjoyed that fabulous turkey dinner with all the trimmings but now you have leftover everything: turkey, potatoes, vegetables, dressing, and gravy! Here’s an idea,

Turkey Stew

Ingredients:

3 Celery stalks (cut in half-inch chunks)

1 Small Onion (chopped)

3 Potatoes (peeled and cut into 1/2-inch chunks)

2 Large Carrots (peeled and cut into 1/2-inch slices)

4 cups Turkey

½ teaspoon Dried Sage

½ teaspoon Black Pepper

¾ cup Water

2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour

3 cups Turkey (leftover cooked, pulled apart into 1-inch pieces)

But wait! Don’t you already have most of these ingredients sitting in bowls under plastic wrap? Try my “lazy” idea. I throw all those leftovers in a big pot (or slow cooker).Yes, even the mashed potatoes and dressing, add the gravy, clean the turkey bits off the carcass and if you don’t use the carcass for broth, I throw that in too! All I have to peel and prepare is the celery. I save the sliced turkey for those late night sandwiches. You can sit back and relax after the empty dishes are washed. Add the dumplings and you’re done!
