The Hamilton Waterfront Trust wants to invite YOU, along with family and friends, to experience Hamilton’s secret treasure at the Waterfront! Pier 8, located at 47 Discovery Drive, conveniently provides loads of fun for ALL age groups!
Whether you’re looking for ice cream, an iced coffee, or interested in trying something new like roller skating or riding a tandem bike – we have you covered at Pier 8!
Perfect for a hot summer day, Waterfront Scoops uses Hewitt’s Dairy Ice Cream to provide customers with the best tasting ice cream around! Scoops is located in the centre of Pier 8, open daily during the summer months. After your sweet treat we invite you to take a ride on our famous roller rink! If you’re wanting to try something new, our roller rink is a perfect idea for people of all ages, able to rent skates here, or dust off those old skates from the basement! Also, we are happy to be introducing Rewind Wednesdays, Rolling in the Park Fridays, and Sundown Saturdays held at the rink for the summer months! A live DJ will keep the good vibes coming until 11pm. If roller skating isn’t your thing, try renting one of our famous bikes from our bike rentals. Choosing tandems, 4-seater Surrey, and 6-seater Surrey bikes, you and your friends can experience a new way of travel and get a laugh or two while doing it! Other main attractions here at Pier 8 include our delicious Waterfront Grill providing hamburgers, poutine and more! Williams Fresh Cafe offers a cozy coffee shop atmosphere with free Wifi, serving all-day breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, and an extensive hot & cold beverage menu. Williams is open 364 days a year from 8am-11pm. Enjoy our licensed venue this summer and the views from our patio! As well, we provide tours of the Hamilton Waterfront via boat or trolley. Take a ride on the Hamiltonian or climb aboard the Waterfront Trolley for tours of Pier 4, Bayfront and the Waterfront Trail – these tours are unique ways of learning more about Hamilton’s secret treasure at the Waterfront.
Additionally, this summer we are hosting many events throughout the week. Music on the Waterfront is a live music event hosted on the Waterfront Stage every Thursday evening. This is a FREE event; however, cash donations would be greatly appreciated! Incorporating a variety of jazz artists, this event is not one you want to miss, but remember to BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair!) The schedule for July & August is below. Throughout July we will be welcoming Salsa Soul dancing, as well as the Hamilton International Folk Dancers to our stage. Learn how to dance and enjoy a picturesque view of the water while doing it! Also, our 13th annual Fishing Derby is being held on August 10th, 2019 – enter for a chance to win! 1,000 youth under the age of 12 get a free fishing rod. All of this and more is accessible via shuttle or city bus too, so there’s no excuse not to visit Pier 8 this summer; there really is an event for everyone!
