The Hamilton Port Authority (HPA) has partnered with City School by Mohawk to launch a new program titled Careers at the Port, beginning January 2019. This six-week course will provide Hamilton residents with the opportunity to build skills, network with industry professionals and learn about the wide range of opportunities on Hamilton’s working waterfront.
HPA is continuing work with our Port Partners and Mohawk college to help bridge the gap and prepare students and job seekers to pursue a career with a large employer community like the Port of Hamilton.
Sharing the Warmth
This season, along with Port Partners Bermingham Foundations and Heddle Marine Services, HPA collected 80 coats for Good Shepherd Hamilton. Since 2013, 596 coats have been collected to help keep families in our community warm. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Port of Hamilton Share the Warmth Coat Drive.
Supporting Youth
On November 7, Liberty for Youth (LFY) hosted their annual Power of a Changed Life Gala where Fredrick Dryden, Executive Director of LFY, unveiled his new book Running For Their Lives. HPA was pleased to purchase the first 100 copies of this new book and donate them back to be given out to youth in the community.
HPA would like to wish all our North End friends and neighbors a safe and happy holiday season, and a happy new year!
