The month of May is traditionally known for sunshine, warmer weather, and a well deserved long weekend. Unfortunately, the news in Hamilton has been dominated by a recent surge in gun violence. Crime Stoppers wants to correct this.
On May 6th, 2024 an innocent bystander was grazed by a stray bullet in the area of King Street and East Avenue. Thankfully they were not seriously injured!
On May 10th, gunshots rang out in the area of Congress Crescent causing damage to buildings.
Then on May 13th, there was a brazen daytime shootout near Sherman Avenue and Cannon Street East. Parties exchanged gunfire back and forth and bullets were found in buildings, cars, and all over the street!
The Hamilton Police Service have photos of the outstanding suspects for each of the occurrences listed on the official website.
