Here in town his month, The Concession Street Festival was a huge success, and The Barton Street Festival was also very well attended.
Father’s Day weekend gave us Pride Hamilton 2019 at Gage Park, Burlington Sound of Music at Spencer Smith Park, Liquid Art Festival at Collective Arts Brewery and the Strawberry Folkfest in Stoney Creek.

The kick off to Hamilton Arts Week began with the annual City of Hamilton Art Awards. Held at Theatre Aquarius June 13th, this sold-out event celebrated and recognized some of the new (and some not so new) faces in and behind our vibrant arts scene. If You are looking for family friendly events where you can stretch your legs but not your budget, the first Friday of the month the Barton Street BIA hosts their ‘First Friday’ event and every third Friday, the Concession Street BIA presents Sidewalk Sounds. There is no shortage of local outdoor street fests to attend. In the downtown, James Street North features Artcrawl every second Friday of the month 6:30-11pm.
And don’t forget all summer long, there is music 11am-4pm at the Gore Park Promenade Tuesdays to Friday until August 30th. Bring your lunch and take in some incredible local talent.
