Tall Ships – June 30 / July 1
The majestic tall ships will be arriving in Hamilton Harbour just in time for Canada Day. The Parade of Sail will take place on June 30, as eleven tall ships will sail into Hamilton Harbour, escorted by local marine partners, including our own Port Patrol.
Come down to Pier 8 on July 1 to see the ships and have some fun on the waterfront. Food trucks, activities and live music will be part of the Canada 150 celebrations. Hamilton Port Authority will be there with a boat-building activity and model lock system for kids. Stop by and say hi!
Community Tour Aboard the Harbour Queen – July 16
Hamilton Port Authority is offering a free public tour aboard the Hamilton Harbour Queen on Sunday, July 16. We’ll be answering your questions, sharing information about the role of the Port, and exploring the many different employment activities that take place on Hamilton’s working waterfront. Information available via HPA’s website at www.hamiltonport.ca.
Operation Safe & Sober is back for another summer. All summer long, HPA and the Hamilton Police Marine Unit will be sharing information about how to stay safe while you have fun on the water. Visit www.hamiltonport.ca for tips and safe boating rules.
HPA has committed to a two-year process to restore the altered shoreline at Sherman Inlet, following an ecologically sound approach, and preserving this feature permanently as a natural space. We know our neighbours are very interested in this project, and we’ll be sharing information as it moves forward.
